Define the following and give two examples in each case: (a) a normal salt, (b) an acid salt, (c) a mixed salt.

(a) Common salt:

Normal salt is a salt formed by the complete replacement of hydrogen atoms with a metallic or ammonium ion.

Eg: Na2SO4, NaCl

(b) Acidic salts:

Acid salts are formed by the partial replacement of hydrogen ionized atoms of polybasic acid with iron or ammonium ion.

Eg: NaHSO4, Na2HPO4
