Solution:
Hypoxia is a situation in which the supply of oxygen to the lungs is insufficient or reduced. Several external factors, such as a decrease in pO2, insufficient oxygen, and so on, induce it. The many kinds of hypoxia are explained further down.
Hypoxemic hypoxia – occurs when the oxygen content of the blood is reduced as a result of low partial pressure of oxygen in the arterial blood.
Anemic hypoxia – is a situation in which the concentration of hemoglobin is reduced.
Stagnant or ischemic hypoxia – In this situation, the oxygen content of the blood is deficient due to inadequate blood circulation. When a person is exposed to frigid temperatures over an extended period of time, this condition develops.
Histotoxic hypoxia – Tissues are unable to utilize oxygen in this state. This happens when you’re poisoned by carbon monoxide or cyanide.
