(a) According to the question,, find the total resistance of the circuit.

V = 4 V

I = 0.4 A

Total resistance R’ =?

R’ = V / I

R’ = 0.4 / 4

R’ = 10 ohm

(b) To calculate the value of R

R1 = 20 ohm

R’ = 10 ohm

1 / R’= 1 / R + 1 / R1

1 / 10 = 1 / R + 1 / 20

1 / R = 1 / 10 – 1 / 20

1 / R = (2 – 1) / 20

1 / R = 1 / 20

R = 20 ohm

(c) To find the current passing through  R

Given

R = 20 ohm

V = 4 V

I = V / R

I = 4 / 20

Hence,

I = 0.2 A
