Let R = {(a, b) : a, b ∈ N and b = a + 5, a < 4}. Find the domain and range of R.

Solution:

Since a< 4,
a = 1, 2, 3
Therefore, R = {(1, 6), (2, 7), (3, 8)}
As a result, Domain(R) = {1, 2, 3}
and Range(R) = {6, 7, 8}
