What do you understand by lone pair and shared pair?

The pair of electrons that is not shared with any of the other atoms are called lone pair of electrons and is responsible for the formation of the coordinate bond.

The pair of electrons shared between two atoms for the formation of a covalent bond, those are called shared pair of electron.
