Syngas is a combination of carbon monoxide and dihydrogen. Since the combination of the two gases is utilized for the blend of methanol, it is called
syngas
amalgamation gas, or
water gas
Syngas is created on the activity of steam with hydrocarbons or coke at a high temperature within the sight of an impetus.
\mathrm{CnH}_{2 n+2}+\mathrm{nH}_{2} \mathrm{o} \rightarrow n \mathrm{CO}+(3 n+1) \mathrm{H}_{2}
For example
\mathrm{CH}_{4(g)}+\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{(g)} \rightarrow \mathrm{CO}_{(g)}+3 \mathrm{H}_{2(g)}
