State two differences between the e.m.f. and terminal voltage of a cell.
State two differences between the e.m.f. and terminal voltage of a cell.

E.M.F  Cell

1.It is a property of the cell, meaning it is independent of the amount of current pulled from cell

2. When the cell is not in use, it is equal to the terminal voltage, but when the cell is in use, it is larger than the terminal voltage

Terminal voltage of cell

1. The amount of current drawn from the cell determines this. The terminal voltage decreases as the current taken from the cell increases.

2. When the cell is not in use, it equals the e.m.f., however when the cell is in use, it is less than the e.m.f.
