  1. When the placenta is axile and the ovules are attached to it in a multilocular ovary the placentation is said to be axile.

Examples – china rose, tomato, and lemon. (. i.e contains many chambers)

2. When the ovules are borne on the central axis and septa are absent the placentation is called free central.

Examples – Dianthus and Primrose. ( i.e. contains a single-chambered pattern)
