Find the centre and radius of each of the following circles : {\left( {x - \frac{1}{2}} \right)^2} + {\left( {y + \frac{1}{3}} \right)^2} = \frac{1}{{16}}

Answer:

The general form of the equation of a circle is (x – h)2 + (y – k)2 = r2

(h, k) is the centre of the circle. r is the radius of the circle.

Comparing the given equation of circle with general form,

h = 1/2 , k = – 1/3, r2 = 1/16

Centre = (1/2, – 1/3)

Radius = 1/4 units.
