Solution:

(i) $(f+g)(x)$

$\Rightarrow(f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x)$

$\Rightarrow f(x)+g(x)=\sqrt{x}+x$

(ii) $(f-g)(x)$

$\Rightarrow(f-g)(x)=f(x)-g(x)$

$\Rightarrow f(x)-g(x)=\sqrt{x}-x$
