Cutaneous respiration is an exchange of gases that is occurring from the skin while pulmonary respiration is the exchange of gases with the help of the lungs.

We can see cutaneous respiration in organisms like amphibians, insects, reptiles, and fishes. Whereas pulmonary respiration can be seen mainly in mammals.
