When a die is thrown, the possible outcomes are 1,2,3,4,5,6.
So Sample space = { 1,2,3,4,5,6}
Number of possible outcomes = 6
Even numbers are (2,4,6).
Number of favourable outcomes = 3
(i)Probability that the number is even,
= 3/6
= 1/2
Hence the required probability is 1/2.
(ii)When the number is greater than 2, the possible outcomes are 3,4,5,6
Number of favourable outcomes = 4
Probability that the number is greater than 2 ,
= 4/6
= 2/3
Hence the required probability is 2/3.
