Solution:

Because liquid X has a higher specific heat capacity than liquid Y, the temperature rise for X will be smaller than for Y for the same mass and heat energy.

(i) As a coolant in automotive radiators, the liquid must absorb more energy while maintaining a constant temperature. As a result, liquid X is useful for this purpose.

(ii) As a heat reservoir to keep juice bottles from freezing, the liquid must emit a substantial amount of heat before reaching freezing temperatures. As a result, liquid X is useful for this purpose.
