The female reproductive system is made up of several glands, a single kind of duct, and other supporting structures, including:
- I) Ovaries: During a woman’s reproductive years, the ovaries are her major sex organs, producing one egg per month.
- ii) Fallopian tubes, also known as oviducts, are two tiny tubes located on either side of the uterus near the kidney.
(iii) Uterus: The uterus, also known as the womb, is roughly 7.5 cm length and 5 cm wide, with the shape of an inverted pear. It can be found behind the bladder.
(iv) Cervix: The uterus’s tiny entrance from the vaginal canal.
(v) Vagina: This is an 8-10 cm long muscular tube with elastic tissues on its walls. The vaginal orifice is an aperture that connects the vagina to the outside world.
(vi) External Genetalia: The mons pubis, labia majora, labia minora, hymen, and clitoris are all part of the external genetalia.
