(a) It is used in keeping an inert atmosphere in high temperature metallurgical operations like arc welding.
(b) It is used in fluorescent and incandescent lamps where it is required to check the sublimation of the filament which increases the shelf life of the lamp.
(c) Argon is used in laboratories to handle substances that are sensitive to air.
