7. Name the three ear ossicles. How do they contribute to the mechanism of hearing?

Malleus (hammer), Incus (anvil), and Stapes (staples) are three Greek gods (stirrup). The ear ossicles are the three bones that make up the ear. The stapes, the last ear ossicle, vibrates and sends the vibration to the oval window. The other two ear ossicles’ function is to enhance the vibration of the stapes due to their lever-like action.
