Chromosomal disorders are increase or decrease in the number of chromosomal numbers which results in the birth defects that are heritable from one generation to the other generation.
- Down syndrome –
It is caused due to the extra copy of chromosome number 21.
The person suffering from this syndrome shows following symptoms: –
- Retarded mental development
- Heart problems
- Distinct facial appearances
- Klinefelter’s syndrome: –
The person born with extra copy of X chromosome.
Symptoms: –
- Low testosterone
- Decreased muscle mass.
- Turner syndrome: –
The patient has only one set of X chromosome and it manly affects the girls and women.
Symptoms: –
- Short stature and delayed puberty.
