Solution:

(v) Hemiacetals are a type of α−alkoxyalcohols.

A hemiacetal’s overall structure.

Aldehyde interacts with one molecule of monohydrated alcohol in the presence of dry HCl gas.

(vi) Oxime:

General formula – RR′CNOH

R′ is either an organic or hydrogen side chain, and R is an organic side chain. Ketoxime is known if R′ is an organic side chain, while aldoxime is known if R′ is H.

When aldehydes or ketones are treated with hydroxylamine in a mildly acidic media, they generate oximes.
