Solve the following two variable Linear equation 15/u+2/v=17, 1/u+1/v=36/5
Solve the following two variable Linear equation 15/u+2/v=17, 1/u+1/v=36/5

Let 1/A=u and 1/B=v

So, the given equations becomes

15A+2B=17 ………………………….. (i)

A+B=36/5………………………. (ii)

From equation (i) we get,

2B=17-15A

=B=(17-15A)/ 2 …………………. (iii)

Substituting (iii) in equation (ii) we get,

= A+(17-15A)/2=36/5

2A+17-15A=(36\times 2)/5 [after taking LCM]

-13A=72/5-17

= -13A=-13/5

A=1/5

u=1/A=5

Putting A=1/5 in equation (ii) , we get

1/5+B=36/5

B=7

v=1/B=1/7

The solution of the pair of equations given are u=5 and v=1/7 respectively.
