Solve the following two variable Linear equation A+2B=3/2, 2A+B=3/2
Solve the following two variable Linear equation A+2B=3/2, 2A+B=3/2

The given pair of equations are:

A+2B=3/2 …………………. (i)

2A+B=3/2…………………… (ii)

Let us eliminate B from the given equations. The coefficients of B in the given equations are 2 and 1 respectively. The L.C.M of 2 and 1 is 2. So, we make the coefficient of B equal to 2 in the two equations.

Multiplying equation (i) A1 and (ii) A2 ⇒

A+2B=3/2 ………………………. (iii)

4A+2B=3 ……………………………………………………. (iv)

Subtracting equation (iii) from (IV)

(4A-A)+(2B-2B)=3A=3-(3/2)

3A=3/2

A=1/2

Putting A = 1/2 in equation (iv)

4(1/2)+2B=3

2+2B=3

B=\frac{1}{2}

The solution of the system of equation is A=\frac{1}{2} and B=\frac{1}{2}
