Some features of catalysis by zeolites are listed below:-

(i) Zeolites are alumino-silicates that are naturally microporous.

(ii) Because of their honeycomb-like structure, zeolites are shape-selective catalysts.

(iii) In the extended 3D network of silicates, certain silicon atoms are replaced with aluminum atoms, resulting in an Al-O-Si framework.

(iv) The pores and cavities in zeolites make the reactions extremely sensitive.

(v) zeolites are widely used in the petrochemical sector.
