(ii) Alcosol: An alcosol is a colloidal solution in which the dispersed phase is a solid substance and the dispersion medium is alcohol. For example, a colloidal sol of cellulose nitrate in ethyl alcohol.

(ii) Aerosol: An aerosol is a colloidal solution with a solid as the dispersed phase and gas as the dispersion medium. For example, fog.

(iii) Hydrosol: A hydrosol is a colloidal solution with a solid as the dispersed phase and water as the dispersion medium. For example, starch or gold sol.
