Emulsions are used for a variety of purposes. Four uses of emulsions have been listed below:

(i) The cleansing action of soap is determined by the formation of emulsions.

(ii) The emulsification mechanism is responsible for fat digestion in the intestines.

(iii) Emulsions are formed when antiseptics and disinfectants are added to water.

(iv) Medicines are manufactured by the process of emulsification.
